Former Assistant Pastor Hopgood(Ret) Bio.
Assistant Pastor at New Testament Church where Pastor Julius R. Malone serves as the Senior Pastor. Pastor Hopgood has been a member of the New Testament Church since its inception in November 1980. He has served as an Adult Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Elder, and in other capacities at the church. Pastor Hopgood received his Certificate of License to Preach on November 26, 1989 and received his Certificate of Ordination on September 13, 1992. He assists the senior pastor in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church, but his favorite responsibility is to oversee the Marriage Enrichment Ministry.
Pastor Hopgood’s educational background includes a BS Degree in Industrial Management from UW - Platteville, May 1970; MS Degree in Counselor Education from UW - Oshkosh August, 1973; and The Certificate of Expository Preaching from The Stephen Olford Center at Union University in Memphis, Tennessee, November, 2010.
Pastor Hopgood retired from MATC on December 31, 2002 as Dean of the Pre-College Education Division. He was employed at MATC for 17 years. He was also employed at Crispus Attucks Center, Xerox Corporation, UW-Oshkosh, and UW- Platteville.
Pastor Hopgood has been happily married to Sister Yvonne Hopgood. Yvonne Hopgood is a retired Milwaukee Public School principal. They have two adult children and three wonderful grandchildren.
